Atomistilor, nr. 405, Magurele, Ilfov County<\/a>)<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Format:<\/td><td><strong>Hybrid<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<strong>Quantum Mechanics, Physical and Metaphysical Issues<\/strong>\u201d is an interdisciplinary event, jointly organised by the Faculty of Physics and the Faculty of Philosophy, in order to celebrate the <strong>centenary<\/strong> of the rigorous foundations of quantum mechanics (2025 International Year of Quantum Science and Technology), by bringing together researchers to reflect on and&nbsp; explore the impacts of quantum mechanics on both science and society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The conference includes <\/strong>plenary sessions, round tables, panel sessions (for young researchers), hands-on learning (for upper secondary school pupils). The plenary sessions and round tables are opened to students, academics, researchers, pupils and teachers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/scirescareer.unibuc.ro\/index.php\/conference-quantum-mechanics-physics-metaphysical-issues\/conference-programme\/\">Programme available here<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link wp-element-button\" href=\"https:\/\/scirescareer.unibuc.ro\/index.php\/conference-quantum-mechanics-physics-metaphysical-issues\/qmpmi-info-pentru-liceeni\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pupils information available here<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The plenary sessions and round tables are open to students, academics, researchers, pupils, and teachers. Registrations for in-person attendance are open <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/Aj8GaYZ5u5mgTx6H7\">here<\/a> until May 3, 2025. The total number of participants in the Aula of the Faculty of Physics is limited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Panels for <strong>Philosophy <\/strong>include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>common interpretations of quantum mechanics (Copenhagen interpretation, the many-worlds interpretation and Bohmian mechanics),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>non-locality, contextuality and realism,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the measurement problem,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>determinism and quantum mechanics &#8211; is quantum mechanics relevant to philosophical debates about free will?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the ontological categories of quantum states.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Panels for <strong>Physics<\/strong> include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>concepts and formal structure of quantum mechanics,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>consequences of quantum mechanics in atomic, nuclear, condensed matter, particle physics and cosmology,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>quantum information and communication,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>challenges in quantum mechanics teaching.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>MA\/MSC and PhD students<\/strong>, as well as <strong>early postdocs<\/strong> are encouraged to contribute with research abstracts related to the event&#8217;s topic areas. Abstracts should be written in English and should not exceed 300 words.
