Atomi\u0219tilor nr. 405, M\u0103gurele).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Abstract<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Liquid water can exist as a metastable liquid in a supercooled state below 0 \u00b0C, in a superheated<br>state above 100 \u00b0C, and in more exotic metastable states. These metastable forms of water are<br>important in nature and technology, and their study contributed greatly to the understanding<br>of the water\u2019s thermodynamic anomalies, such as the density maximum at 4 \u00b0C. In this<br>presentation, I will first review the basics of metastable water including water at negative<br>pressures and water that can spontaneously boil or freeze (doubly metastable water), as well as<br>their role in the hypothesis of a second liquid phase of water. I will then present our<br>experimental work on (i) producing water at extreme negative pressures (&lt;-100 MPa) using X-<br>ray laser ablation, and (ii) developing state-of-the-art image simulation techniques for precision<br>measurements of the properties of water at negative pressures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Claudiu Stan &#8211; scurt\u0103 biografie<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/scirescareer.unibuc.ro\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/ClaudiuStan-1200x1200-1.jpg?resize=640%2C640&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1509 size-full\"\/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>Profesorul Claudiu Stan este licen\u021biat \u00een fizic\u0103 al Universit\u0103\u021bii din Bucure\u0219ti, ob\u021bin\u00e2ndu-\u0219i doctoratul \u00een fizic\u0103 la MIT, sub coordonarea lui Wolfgang Ketterle. Studii postdoctorale \u00een grupul lui George Whitesides din cadrul Departamentului de Chimie \u0219i Biochimie al Universit\u0103\u021bii Harvard, apoi cercet\u0103tor asociat la SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. Activit\u0103\u021bile sale anterioare includ realizarea condens\u0103rii Bose-Einstein a moleculelor, descoperirea primei rezonan\u021be Feshbach \u00eentre diferite specii de atomi ultrareci \u0219i dezvoltarea de instrumente microfluidice pentru studiul apei superr\u0103cite \u0219i al nuclea\u021biei ghe\u021bii. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Cercet\u0103rile actuale ale profesorului Stan se concentreaz\u0103 pe propriet\u0103\u021bile lichidelor metastabile \u0219i pe tranzi\u021biile lor de faz\u0103. Acestea constau \u00een proiectarea \u0219i interpretarea experimentelor cu laser cu raze X pentru a investiga dinamica \u00eenghe\u021bului \u00een apa superr\u0103cit\u0103 \u0219i a cavita\u021biei \u00een apa cu presiune negativ\u0103, la scale de lungime \u0219i timp inaccesibile anterior. O parte a acestei cercet\u0103ri implic\u0103 dinamica experimental\u0103 a fluidelor la scar\u0103 mic\u0103 \u0219i \u00een condi\u021bii extreme, unde a folosit abla\u021bia cu laser cu raze X pentru a ob\u021bine presiuni negative foarte mari \u00een pic\u0103turile de ap\u0103 \u0219i unde sonore extrem de intense \u00een jeturile de ap\u0103.
