Research & Innovation Landscape: Opportunities, Principles, and International Integration

SciResCareer invites you to Research & Innovation Landscape: Opportunities, Principles, and International Integration training session. This will take place on May 15th, 2025 (14.00 -17.00), either Face-2-Face or online, on Zoom platform (to be confirmed later) and will have Dr. Mariana Chioncel as the main speaker and host.

Target Audience: This session is designed for international researchers, early-stage and established academics, research managers, interested in understanding and engaging with Romania’s and EU research and innovation ecosystem. It is particularly relevant for those seeking collaboration opportunities, exploring funding instruments (national or European), or aiming to integrate into interdisciplinary and cross-border research environments aligned with European policy frameworks.

Aim: This session provides foreign researchers with a clear and strategic overview of Romania’s research and innovation (R&I) ecosystem, framed within broader European and global contexts. It highlights essential principles that govern research activity, the priorities of the European Research Area, and concrete opportunities for career development in research. Particular attention is given to practical aspects relevant for international researchers, such as national and EU funding opportunities, strategies for building institutional partnerships, engagement in interdisciplinary and cross-border projects, and navigating distinct policy and evaluation frameworks. The session addresses real-world challenges—such as the intersection of global issues and research, the link between research and industrial competitiveness, and the evolving role of AI in scientific work—while also highlighting emerging opportunities for international collaboration, and engagement in research-informed policymaking. By bridging insights from policy, funding, and institutional practice, the session supports researchers in identifying actionable entry points and long-term opportunities for integration, leadership, and impact within Romanian and European research environments.
